In addition to ERs, daidzein transactivated not only peroxisome proliferator-activate receptor gamma (PPARgamma), but also PPARalpha and PPARdelta at micromolar concentrations [1].Daidzein has both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects. Experiments in cells and in animals showed that even low concentration stimulates breast tumor growth in in vitro and in vivo, and interfere with the antitumor effect of the cancer drug tamoxifen [2].
