    • Chemical Class:

Donepezil hydrochloride is a centrally acting reversible acetyl cholinesterase inhibitor. Its main therapeutic use is in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease where it is used to increase cortical acet ylcholine. ChEBI CHEBI:4696, https://www.ebi.ac.uk/chebi/searchId.do?chebiId=CHEBI:4696
    • Bio Activity:

<p>Potent acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (IC50 = 5.7 nM) which increases acetylcholine levels. Displays &gt;1200-fold selectivity for AChE over butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE). Orally active. Shows anti-inflammatory properties, neuroprotective activity and attenuates amyloid-? load <em>in vitro</em> and <em>in vivo. </em>In combination, donepezil and <a title="LSL60101, Hello Bio" href="/lsl60101.html">LSL60101</a> decrease amyloid-?40 and amyloid-?42 levels, amyloid-? plaque number and tau hyperphosphorylation to attenuate amyloid-? pathology in 5XFAD brains. Chronic low-dose treatment with LSL60101 and donepezil reversed cognitive deficits and impaired social behaviour.</p> Hello Bio HB2083

Donepezil Hcl(E-2020) is a noncompetitive acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which can readily cross the blood brain barrier and increases the concentration of cortical acetylcholine. ;IC50 Value:;Target: AChE;It is known that Donepezil Hydrochloride is a useful tool in the study of Alzheimer's disease. Studies indicate that Donepezil Hydrochloride protects the brain against diisopropylfluorophosphate-induced effects. Studies indicate that Donepezil Hydrochloride selectively inhibits acetylcholinesterase, whereas it has little effect on butyrylcholinesterase. Alternate studies suggest that Donepezil Hydrochloride increases the concentration of extracellular acetylcholine in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of rats. MedChem Express HY-B0034
