ChemSpider and ChemRefer Walk Down the Aisle - What Will Our Children Look Like?

Okay..so maybe the analogy of marriage is a little unorthodox but ChemRefer and ChemSpider have been courting for a while. The meshing of our relative offerings has certainly been beneficial to our mutual users and, as we have continued to develop a deeper path for integration it has become clear that a deeper relationship would be of value. With a development team made up of members with chemical structure handling/databasing expertise, integrated data management skills and web-based software development expertise it seemed appropriate to bring on board an expert in the field of text mining, with a focus on chemistry-related information.
As of today we are happy to announce that ChemSpider and ChemRefer have come together in a deeper business sense with ChemSpider acquiring ChemRefer. There will be no immediate changes in service for either website but a significant amount of development has been going on over the past few weeks and you will see the fruits of our efforts shortly. Watch this space.
