But as Chris says, Wikipedia actively bans bots from crawling – its been a source of contention for quite some time with the major search engines. Has something changed from then to now?

I am all for this effort. It really drives up traffic to the Chemspider site, and those who look up the chemical on WP get an excellent resource on the physical properties of the chemical.

Although I thought that Wikipedia did not like having bots operate on their site?
