Online Movie of the ChemSpider Science Commons Symposium Talk
Posted by: Antony Williams in PresentationsCopyright©2010 Antony Williams
I had the pleasure of giving a presentation at the Science Commons Symposium a couple of weeks ago. The meeting was held at Microsoft Research and, as is to be expected, Microsoft had all of the necessary technologies in place to capture the video and provide access to the presentations online. My presentation is available here and all talks are available from this page. It was a great gathering and it was a privilege to spend time with the participants and supporters of Science In The Open.

Cool, unfortunately the link to the video gives me “Unknown DNS Name” error.
The link should be:
http://content.digitalwell.washington.edu/msr/external_release_talks_12_05_2005/18175/player.htm
And why-oh-why do they insist on using Silverlight? Doesn’t seem to load on my Mac Snow Leopard system (just get “loading” with a twirly icon).

Just watched the video. I really liked the overview of the project and summary of the challenges in searching for chemical data on the web. It reminds me of how far there is to go, but is also giving me new ideas of things that we could do.
I love the production of the video. If only we could hire this conference room for an afternoon for recording some ChemSpider tutorials.
