Nov 26 2014 1:22PM	Normal	Acknowledged	Funny structure. The compound is jadeite -- and like so many aluminosilcates can be considerd to contain complex polymeric ions. It is a pyroxene - no idea how you can show such structures this application. Thank you for your feedback. To explain ChemSpider is a database of chemical structures, but only stores primary structure data -things at the molecular level (atoms, bonds etc) it does't hold data on supramolecular or extended structures (eg how molecules are arranged in ordered materials) - nor can it distinguish between two materials that have the same molecular structure but different supramolecular structure - for instance Calcite, aragonite and vaterite are all percieved as the same. But we can provide links out to resources that do have pages/entries that do distinguish these materials.
