Hi,
Just done a search on deoxyguanosine and noted that in the numerous synonyms: beta should be ß and 2 should be 2'. Also, I would query the presence of: 2-deoxycytidine-2-deoxyguanosne-3',5'-monophosphate; GNG and desoxyguanosine ???
Pritpal When I look at this record beta is displayed as the Greek letter (perhaps this is an issue with your browser) - In any case it should be clear to a chemist that the word beta means the Greek letter, ie this does not change the meaning of the the name.
While I wouldn't validate the names where 2- is used rather than 2'- I think that these names can be kept as unvalidated names.
The name including the phosphate is clearly incorrect and has been deleted, as to the others: I am not certain and therefore will leave them as they are.
From looking at lots of chemical names in the past I believe that the use of des- rather than de- may be valid. See the page for this compound on the CAS common chemistry site: http://www.commonchemistry.org/ChemicalDetail.aspx?ref=961-07-9&terms=Deoxyguanosine |
