Dec 2 2021 2:44PM High Acknowledged Hello, ı just want to get information about Novec 1230's threshold limit value as percent % purity (for using extinguisher in legal standard)
Unfortunately we do not store this information.
Mar 6 2011 6:53PM Normal Rejected For this chemical, there are several significant values which are just plain wrong. The most important is the quoted value of flash point @ 9.1 oC. Actually, as noted in the CS record this chemical is Novel 1230 and is sold as a fire extinguishing agent, and as such it has no flash point. Further, it's boiling point is stated as 60 oC. The 3M MSDS says 49.8 oC. And of course the vapor pressures are too low and don't match with the 3M data.
The values that you quote are taken from tabs in the Properties infobox which are marked as Pred. Prop. - Predicted properties. The values are not measured data but are extrapolated using sets of algorithms that employ assumptions based on the structural elements of the molecule. Unfortunately, there will always be special 'corner-cases' and outliers for which these trends cannot be applied. However, for most of the structures in the database, if there is no real experimental data available, such calculated values are in 'most cases' a good approximation.
