Jan 27 2014 11:50PM High Acknowledged The 3D model of this molecule is incorrect (and in the exact same way as the 3D model for its isomer): only one Fe atom is shown, rather than two! Is there some systemic bug in the coding for the 3D models involving iron??
Thank you for your comments. To explain, we do not store the 3D structures that you see when you click on 3D. They are created on-the-fly from the 2D structure using a 3rd party algorithm called Balloon. It seems that in this case the process results in a step that puts the 2 Fe atoms in the same place. There isn't a way for us to change this behavior at this time. We apologise for this unfortunate problem, but would point out that Balloon does a very good job in >99% of the cases where we use it.
