Oct 6 2012 8:13PM Normal Acknowledged the oxidation number of Pt should be +II here, not +IV
The Roman numerals that are displayed do no reflect the oxidation state of the Pt, but instead show that the nitrogens have 4 bonds, this is a result of the limited support for organometallic species in the common chemical structure drawing packages.
Jan 23 2009 11:20PM Low Acknowledged 3 structures for cisplatin. Doesn't seem like these really show the spatial orientation of the amine and chlorine groups. Is this common for inorganics? I know the nomenclature of inorganics is pretty different.
There's only one now. But it doesn't have the spatial orientation because the system doesn't support it yet. However, I have linked this record to the Wikipedia article.
