why the mass is different from sigma/aldrich and wikipedia site? Thank you for your question.
The mass differs from the two sites mentioned because it is describing subtly different chemical substances.
Wikipedia only describes a single chemical species: Acriflavinium chloride, and has a mass that matches accordingly - looking at this record you can see that the record corresponds to a mixture of Acriflavinium chloride and proflavine
The Sigma-Aldrich site (http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/sigma/a8126?lang=en®ion=GB) shows a mixture of Acriflavinium chloride and proflavine, but looking at the mass and molecular formula it only has the data for Acriflavinium chloride. hence the discrpancy |
