The melting point for biphenyl given in the EPISuite program is INCORRECT-- it is stated as 12 deg C and also 25.07 deg C. Someone contact EPA and tell them that the data in their database needs to be changed. The correct value is closer to 69 deg C.

The EPI suite program is an algorithm that tries to provide estimates of various properties based on a model, there will be a number of cases where the model (and hence the estimated value) does not correctly describe one or more properties of a structure (and such estimated data should be used with this in mind). In this case you can find measured experimental data in the Experimental Properties tab, which provides you with "real values" so you do not need to rely on the estimated value. |
