I would like to suggest not using the term "mothballs" or related terms as an identifier for naphthalene. First: mothballs are mixtures of chemicals and second they do not always have naphthalene in them.
Thank you for your feedback. This term sits in a kind of grey area - there is a strong association between naphthalene and mothballs which I think justifies the inclusion of this name in this section. But there needs to be a balance between maintaining the association and over-weighting the link - therefore I've marked the names associated as mothballs as validated by uses. |
