Jan 23 2014 2:01PM Normal Acknowledged This is the only instance of tetryl that I have been able to find which contains only 7 oxygen atoms, however you state that the chemical formula is C7N5H5O8. LC-MS analysis of tetryl in methanol:water solutions has caused ion formations which seem to fit the structure which you have provided on this page but I was wondering if you could clarify why this loss of an oxygen occurs or if the structure provided here is actually incorrect. Many thanks.
Thank you for your comments. The record does not have only 7 oxygens - it has always been about the structure displayed here, it is just that previously the layout of the quite crowded structure was a little unfortunate in that two oxygens were superimposed. This has now been tidied.
